The Cost of a Console: Gain 30 Years of Wisdom in 11 Minutes

We’ve been doing this for 30 years at Xybix. Does that make me feel old? Why yes, yes it does. It also makes me feel wise because I’ve learned a lot about ergonomic sit-to-stand consoles and how they enhance the health, happiness and productivity of dispatchers, who are literally the first responders to calls for help. I’ve learned what’s important to 911 centers in terms of features, quality and service. And I know how much that all costs.

So, I’m ideally suited to share information about the cost of consoles. This is a favorite topic of mine because you need an idea about costs to get the ball rolling, whether you’re asking the government for money, applying for grants or saving for the project. Over the last few years, I’ve written multiple blogs on this topic, and according to metrics you can read the four below in 11 minutes. Once you have an idea on costs, feel free to give us a call at 1-800-788-2810 or shoot us an email for more information.

Dispatch consoles are not cheap, but they are an investment in your people. Finding furniture that fits them may be one of the most important decisions you make. After you get an idea of what your project will cost, I would rank the top three most important factors as:

  1. Ergonomics: Be sure the consoles fit your people in the best possible way.
  2. Room Design: Find a vendor that will work with you and make the necessary changes until you’re satisfied.
  3. Warranty/Durability: Yeah, that is kind of 4 factors, but the warranty and durability go hand in hand. Xybix new 10-year warranty for parts and labor plus lifetime after that will keep your overall costs down.

As part of a family business, I take pride in ensuring that our products are a good value to our first responders.
