From the Family Basement to 54,000 Square Feet
Xybix was born in 1991 with a vision to help mission-critical professionals work through ergonomics before the term “ergonomics” was widely known.
Founded by Dave Carson, along with support from his wife Beverly and sons Barry and Kenny, we initially sold simple ergonomic tools like wrist rests and monitor stands. The core of our brand came when we developed a full sit-stand desk solution (before they were cool), addressing core ergonomic needs at the source.
Our first major breakthrough happened when a family friend mentioned the need for such workstations in emergency communication centers. We went to our first APCO tradeshow and eventually landed San Diego PD, a HUGE project for us at the time! Initially the three boys were doing all the selling, designing, manufacturing, and installing. The matriarch, Bev was keeping the lights on with her salary. The name “Xybix” comes from Bev’s maiden name – Bicksler. Grandma Dot and Grandpa Bob would sign their names “Bix.” Since Xybix could only come to be with the inheritance from Gramdma Dot, we had to pay homage to them! The “XY” is random and has helped us stay unique. With a LOT of hard work, a little bit of luck, and family support, Xybix has grown to the success it is today – and that’s the true American Dream!

MEET OUR PRESIDENT:We’ve had some major upgrades in the past year. One of our big positive changes was promoting Adam Cookson to President! With his guidance, we’ve had great growth both strategically and culturally. Adam came to Xybix with a diverse background in manufacturing, most notably working with Toyota for 7 years. In the past year, we’ve focused on maturing our management and production systems. This included purchasing new machinery, better scheduling practices, and promoting team members. We’re excited to see what’s in store for 2025 and beyond. |
Fun Fact: Adam was featured on Shark Tank! |
