“Oh baby, it’s cold outside.” Yep ... I'm talking comfort controls: forced cool and heated air. Who could ask for more? Whether you are in snowy New England (and let’s not forget our friends in the Midwest) or in sunny Florida, thermostat control is a huge issue. Everyone has an ideal temperature, and it is never the same. With climate control, you can regulate the heating and cooling individually at your station!
“But as long as you hold me close…” Let’s be honest; "close" is not exactly how we want to be with our co-workers this time of year, especially with the recent news that the flu shot didn't work. (Am I the only one freaking out about this?). Luckily, there are such things as anti-microbial laminates and germ eliminators to nix the germs in your center and help keep you healthy for Santa and the New Year!
“Walking in a winter wonderland.” With the winter months upon us, it's hard to get outside for walks, bike rides or let's face it, anything... The days are shorter, and it’s cold. Ask your Comm Center manager or Santa for a treadmill or a bike for your Center. That way, you can get your daily exercise in at work. No more trudging outside through the sleet and the snow or rain. Save it for the spring.
“May your days be sunny and bright.” Along with comfort controls, task lighting seems to be something people can't live without. Whether it be with a typical dimming task light or biased lighting, you can keep your workstation lit appropriately.
“Frosted windowpanes.” Looking for a little added privacy in your dispatch center? Check out these acrylic panels to wrap around your workstations. These are also great to further define a space while allowing easy line-of-sight.
“A cup of cheer.” Oh, yeah, we know it! Long working hours require coffee (or hot chocolate — whatever flies your sleigh). Wouldn’t it be great to have a place to put your mugs of steaming caffinated goodness? Don't forget the cup holders!
“Brown paper packages tied up with strings.” OK, this is a stretch, I know. But, can you guess what I’m getting at? Did you say additional storage? You would be right! Let's face it, everyone needs loads of extra storage, some options are lockers, file drawers, rotating resource guides, bookshelves, etc. If you don’t see it, chances are the busy elves in our workshop can make it! (I’m just kidding. We don’t have elves, but how cool would that be?)
So when you write your wish list for your new 911 Comm Center this winter, grab some egg nog and cookies, put on Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas,” (which never gets old) and consider some of the options you really 'want for Christmas!'
