The Tompkins County 911 Center serves the 100,000+ people who live in this Upstate New
After installing new consoles at the center, Susanne Lottie, Director of Dispatch Sales with Xybix, discussed the process and the results with John Halaychik, Assistant Director of the Tompkins County 911 Center. Watch the interview here and check out the highlights below.
Design Decisions
John, who admitted he wanted Xybix consoles “right out of the gate,” described the design experience as wonderful. He specifically appreciated Susanne’s support in making selections: “She left it up to us to make our own decisions for our center but at the same time provided the input, so we didn’t potentially make a mistake with what we were looking to buy.”
When it came to design process, he found the process of working directly with a designer on a custom layout to be familiar: “Taylor is like a dispatcher because she’s behind the scenes, but she brings it all together.” John describes the new center as amazing and beautiful, and shared that they experienced no issues with deadlines, delivery, or installation.
Building Positivity
According to John replacing the 20- to 25-year-old furniture in the center with modern, ergonomic furniture “absolutely improved morale” and started “building positivity.” The proof, he said, is in the fact that employees are invested in the furniture and willing to take care of it.
